Basic Womenswear Dress Summer Course

80 hours

16 hours weekly for 5 weeks.

Students will receive teaching handouts for each course along with paper, cardboard and a kit of useful tools for patternmaking classes such as :a set square, a bradawl and a tape measure.

Our Faculty consists of highly – qualified professionals, with several years proven experience in Fashion business.
They’re constantly updated on Fashion and Market Trends and New Technologies.

1) EU Citizens and Switzerland Citizens: a copy of Identity Card ; n. 1 digital passport photo; a copy of diploma or self – certification; a copy of Social Security Number (SSN) /Tax Code.
2) NON EU Citizens: a passport copy and a Student Visa; n. 1 digital passport photo; a copy of the Social Security Number (SSN) / Tax Code.

The ideal measurements concerning lenght and circumference;
chest measurement or size;
how to take measurements.
Basic round – neck dress with breast dart
Back side;
front side;
back side with centre back seam;
lapel collar and casual collar;
sleeve.
Basic Sack Dress without breast dart
Back side;
front side;
sleeve;
two-piece sleeve with centre seam.
Various types of collar bases for buttoned garments
Full collar basis for blouse;
two-piece collar basis for blouse;
operating procedure to transform a drawing into a pattern, regarding stand – up collars
for buttoned garments;
mandarin – style collar basis with top collar;
“burberry’s” full collar basis;
“burberry’s” collar basis with top collar stand;
procedure to insert collar points / front button placket closures.

Procedure of pattern grading: grading up sizes (increase sizes)
Procedure of pattern grading: grading down sizes (decrease sizes)
Variations to obtain wide shoulders and deep armholes
Basic T- shirt
Knit jersey – dress with darts
Slip dress
Basic bodice.
